how we support current pmba members

For any requests please email: pmba@vpd.ca

Club and Team Funding

The PMBA may provide funding up to $750 to support a new club/team, while providing $1000 in funding in subsequent years. These teams need to be affiliated with the VPD/PMBA and benefit members of the PMBA.

If you would like to request funding to start a new club/team, or to support an existing club/team, please email us to get on the next meeting agenda. A representative from the club/team will need to attend a monthly PMBA meeting, explain the request, and make a motion for the donation.

Hospital TV Rentals

The PMBA pays for hospital TV rentals for members, their spouses, and their children.

New Member in a Family

Know a member that just gave birth or adopted a child? We will send them a gift to celebrate their new addition!

*In your email, please include the member's name, PIN, full mailing address, and phone number*

Sick Baskets and Condolences

Know someone that could use a little pick-me-up? We will review each case to see where we can help. Examples of situations that PMBA can help include a hospitalized member or a member suffering an illness or going through a loss.

*In your email, please include the member's name, PIN, full mailing address, and phone number*

Special Requests

The PMBA is dedicated to supporting our members and we are open to looking at creative ways to help members in need. If you know of a member who requires support beyond the typical basket or hospital parking reimbursement request, please do not hesitate to reach out and let us know. We are often able to provide a unique and tailored approach to supporting our members.

VSPOA Memorial Dinner

The Vancouver Superannuated Police Officers Association hosts a dinner every April in memory of VPD staff that have passed away in the previous year. The PMBA contributes to this event to honour those that have served with us and were part of the PMBA family.

Widow/Widower Gifts

Every year during the holiday season, members of the PMBA deliver a gift to widows/widowers of VPD members. It doesn't matter if the member passed 30 years ago, we will continue to deliver a gift every December, as a reminder that the widow/widower is still a member of the VPD/PMBA family.
